Electrofishing Cheticamp and Margaree watersheds 2024

We’re pleased to announce recent progress in our conservation efforts! Over the past two weeks, our team has been actively involved in electrofishing operations within the Cheticamp and Margaree watersheds. Our focus has been on assessing the populations of Atlantic salmon in several key streams: Fiset Brook, Tompkins Brook, Marsh Brook, Ingraham Brook, and Stewart Brook.

The electrofishing work was also an opportunity for the CRSA to work more closely with the Margaree Salmon Association , our neighbours and partners in conservation who we are happy to be sharing our electrofishing equipment with. Our electrofishing surveys would also not have been possible without the support and on-the-ground leadership from the Atlantic Salmon Federation.
