Tree Planting 2014!

Jillian Baker July 17, 2014

Yesterday, the Chéticamp River Salmon Association was pleased to plant 300 tree seedlings in different locations along the Aucoin Brook. The seedlings were a mixture of Yellow Birch and White Spruce, and they will create protection and increase species populations in the coming years. Trees are great to have along river/stream sides because they create shade, reduce erosion, enhance water quality, and create habitats- among other things! The old areas of thin vegetation will hopefully soon turn into riparian buffers.
